STADIUM FOR ALL

The Matmut Atlantique is a new generation multifunction venue conceived to welcome a rich and diversified programming within its walls as well as in its courtyards, working in synergy with the already existing facilities found around the site.

With a maximum seating capacity of 42,115, the largest sporting and cultural arena in the south west is destined to open its doors to all the region’s inhabitants for a diversity of events in a spirit of conviviality and enjoyment for all.

The “spectator experience” is thought of in a global fashion, from purchasing the ticket to the after party, including arriving at the stadium and the event in itself.

The stadium’s modularity, offering several possible configurations and various facilities, fully enables it to welcome a large scope of programming:

Sporting events

Soccer will represent an important share of the proposed events at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE. Besides all of the resident club’s games, the Girondins de Bordeaux, the arena will host international competitions such as the Euro 2016, international games for the French National Team along with women’s soccer meets, and on a more unusual note, the stadium could see the Australian football team, the Bombers de Bordeaux and the 2012 French winners of their championship, play here.

The south west being home to numerous professional rugby clubs, the stadium will also honor the oval ball by hosting the final stages of the TOP 14, of the PRO D2 et even the latter’s final game. The most exciting European interclub competitions such as the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup will also be programmed without forgetting several international games of the French National Team, whether in test phase or in the context of large competitions.

The Matmut Atlantique will also honor other sporting disciplines by hosting mechanical sports exhibitions and competitions (supercross, freestyle motocross, stunt, trial, and karting), equestrian sports (jumping, dressage), skateboarding, inline skating, and biking (BMX, mountain bike).

Cultural events

The Matmut Atlantique will be able to transform itself easily and become the Atlantic’s most beautiful entertainment venue, a necessary stop for national and international stars on their European tour. With three possible stage configurations (front, side and central), it will host concerts, musicals, festivals, operas and many more cultural spectacles. The stadium’s reception areas will also be able to receive temporary exhibitions, art competitions, photo galleries…

Corporate events

The Matmut Atlantique also possesses all of the infrastructures necessary to host professional events. Bordeaux is indeed a prime destination for business tourism in the region. Specially designed areas have been conceived to host seminars, conventions and conferences under the best of conditions and guaranteeing quality services: a 200 seat conference room, meeting rooms and reception lounges with adjoining terraces.

The Matmut Atlantique has also been designed to be a living space throughout the year. The permanent restaurant seating 200 will offer a new dining venue in an unusual setting for those who work or reside in the Bordeaux-Lac area. The stadium’s courtyard has also been designed with this in mind and offers a living space for community actions, a children’s play area… Safety and security concerns were integrated into the project’s design from its very conception and bestow on the Matmut Atlantique a secure family atmosphere allowing all generations to thrive around a shared passion

General public

More than 37,000 covered seats will be available to the spectators (aside from VIP facilities). All stands will be accessed through a passageway, unique in its design that includes around twenty food outlets, activity areas, shops for related products as well as the restrooms. This covered area will allow to follow the event while eating, spending time with friends and other enthusiasts. It is a true center for sharing and conviviality. The ground floor restaurant, with its brasserie feel, will also welcome those spectators wishing to dine in unusual surroundings. For individuals with limited mobility, 125 seats have been reserved for them along with an additional 125 for their guides and 4 elevators. Many additional seats have been fitted to receive disabled spectators (visually or hearing impaired…).

VIP

The Matmut Atlantique has at its disposal several high quality and modular reception areas which can host up to 4,400 VIP guests. Amongst the 9,000 m² of reception areas, 4,000 m² are intended for the east/west prestige grandstands offering a panoramic view of the playing field though large bay windows and complete access to an adjoining 8 meter wide terrace that runs the entire length of the stands. The areas also include a 600 m² honor suite and 250 m² for the player’s families. On the next floor, there are 70 private lodges with their adjoining seats in the stands, able to receive 980 people.

MEDIA

Areas for the media have been defined so as to facilitate the various participants’ work: more than 1,150 m² will be dedicated to the different teams covering the events: 366 seats and an adjacent press room, a mixed zone equipped to the highest standards, in close proximity to the field and the players’ locker rooms, and numerous panoramic interview studios.
