The Stade Matmut ATLANTIQUE celebrates its 1st birthday!

1 YEAR !

One year ago, the Matmut ATLANTIQUE was inaugurated in the presence of Thierry Braillard (Secretary of State for Sport), Pierre Dartout (Regional Prefect), Alain Juppé (Mayor of Bordeaux), Alain Rousset (President of the Aquitaine Region), Jean-Louis Triaud (President of the Girondins de Bordeaux), Xavier Huillard (Chairman and CEO of the VINCI Group), Jean-Claude Fayat (Chairman of the FAYAT Group) and Nicolas de Tavernost (Chairman of M6). The stadium was also inaugurated on 23 May 2015, one year to the day, by Zinedine Zidane and the Girondins de Bordeaux victory over Montpellier. This inaugural period continued and ended with the hosting of the TOP 14 semi-finals and the stadium's first open day.

To mark this anniversary, the Matmut ATLANTIQUE invites you to take a look back at the figures for its first year of existence, a rich and festive year :

34 football and rugby matches played

76 goals scored during the 29 football matches

714 football and rugby players received on the pitch

164 corporate events organised in the stadium, attended by 33,931 people

16,840 visitors* on 52 tours of the stadium

2 awards (sports architecture of the year and stadium of the year 2015)

• and no fewer than 885,000 spectators came to the Matmut ATLANTIQUE for a match!

This first year has been marked by many events, not all of which we can mention here. So the Matmut ATLANTIQUE invites you to relive the most memorable events throughout the year on the stadium's Facebook page through a series of posts entitled "One year ago, to the day, at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE...".

This article is also an opportunity for the stadium to thank the 1,000 people who work at every match to provide you with the best spectator experience.
