The Matmut ATLANTIQUE commits to an eco-responsible stadium

Eco-responsibility at the heart of the stadium

On 11 June 2018, Laura FLESSEL, Minister for Sport, and Isabelle AUTISSIER, President of WWF France, brought together the major players and organisers of national and international events, as well as the managers of several major French sports facilities. The aim of the meeting was to present them with an eco-responsibility charter drawn up by the Ministry of Sports and WWF France, presenting "15 eco-responsible commitments". At the end of the meeting, all the organisers, including Matmut ATLANTIQUE, signed the charter in order to become even more involved in preserving our environment.

15 major commitments

Among these 15 commitments, the main themes are "responsible food and purchasing, waste recycling, controlling water and energy consumption, sustainable mobility and preserving biodiversity, as well as accessibility and promoting equality between men and women in positions of responsibility".

Since its construction, Matmut ATLANTIQUE has been committed to a policy of environmental protection. In 2015, with the help of Aquality France, four 200 m3 tanks were installed to recover rainwater for use on the pitch.

"Sport has a duty to help preserve our environment and build a sustainable and equitable society". Laura FLESSEL, Minister for Sport
