Evasion Day
20 years of Premiers de Cordée in Bordeaux!
2019 is an exceptional year for Premiers de Cordée. The association is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and to mark the occasion, it has given the "Journée Evasion" an unprecedented scope by organizing 4 dates: in Le Mans (Stade MMArena), in Nice (Stade Allianz Riviera), in Paris (Stade de France) and finally, in Bordeaux (Stade Matmut ATLANTIQUE). The aim of the Journée Evasion initiative is to give children from medical facilities a chance to get away from it all for a day, by discovering and taking part in sporting activities.

On Wednesday June 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., over 600 children, their families and carers accepted the invitation extended by Premiers de Cordée. All day long, they were able to discover more than twenty sporting activities (wrestling, basketball, golf, chess and climbing). To make the day even more special, two champions spent the day at the stadium with the children. Thierry Omeyer was happy to take part in some penalty shoot-outs, much to the delight of our budding athletes. Gabin Giband (Danse avec les stars) gave a number of dance lessons on the forecourt, adding to the general good mood of this very special day.
In addition to the sporting activities, our guides gave participants a behind-the-scenes look at the stadium: the mixed zone, the players' changing rooms and, of course, the pitch.
Many thanks to the 100 volunteers who made yesterday's event possible. The entire stadium team is delighted to have been able to welcome Premiers de Cordée and this fabulous first edition of Evasion Day.

Throughout the year, the association offers free sports initiation courses for hospitalized children. A wide range of sports are on offer, from soccer and rugby to boxing, dance, judo and tennis. The association is sponsored by Kylian MBappé, Nathalie Péchalat, Thierry Omeyer, Maxime Médard and Stéphane Houdet. Premiers de Cordée has also developed a program to raise awareness of disability through handisport in schools and companies.
