The first event at Bordeaux's New Stadium

The 1st match at the stadium

The New Bordeaux Stadium hosted the first major event in its history on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
Highly anticipated by Bordeaux and national fans alike, the stadium was unveiled to the 40,275 spectators present at the final match of the Ligue 1 season, marking the first attendance record in FCGB's history. We take a look back at the emotional evening in pictures.

The 1st event in Bordeaux's New Stadium

Opening of the entertainment village at 5 p.m. Treed by a forest of 300 pine trees, the western forecourt of the New Stadium features a 4-hectare entertainment village with a fan zone, giant screen, inflatables and 8 food trucks.

Stadium gates open at 7pm. As indicated on the ticket, spectators first proceed to the access gate, then to the dedicated walkway, before reaching the general public walkway. Covering an area of one hectare, the walkway features 20 food and entertainment outlets.

Kick-off 9pm. Girondins de Bordeaux Football Club honored its new home in the very first match, beating Montpellier Hérault Sport Club 2-1 thanks to a brace from Diego ROLAN, the last scorer at Chaban Delmas and the first scorer at the New Stadium.

The show began at 11pm. Sound and light effects took spectators on a journey through the club's history. The Girondins de Bordeaux Football Club boasts one of the finest track records in France.
