The bees at Matmut ATLANTIQUE

World Bees Day!

Monday 20 May 2024 is World Bees Day. Did you know that since 2019, the Matmut ATLANTIQUE stadium has been actively involved in raising awareness and communicating about biodiversity? In partnership with beekeeper Juan Gonzalez, we have set up beehives near the Jallère protected area, one of the region's wettest zones.

Why are bees so important?

Bees play a crucial role in pollination, a vital process for the reproduction of many plants and crops. By contributing to pollination, they help to maintain biodiversity.

By planting beehives near the stadium, we are providing a healthy and protected environment for bees, while raising awareness in our community of the importance of these vital pollinators. This initiative is part of our wider commitment to protecting the environment and promoting biodiversity.

We would like to thank our beekeeper, Juan Gonzalez, for his expertise and dedication. Thanks to his work, the hives are thriving and actively contributing to the preservation of local biodiversity.
